How To Solve Hp Printer Error Code 49 By Jack Brandon

HP LaserJet printers and MFPs have a very convenient free feature that allows you to send a print job to a LaserJet printer or MFP, and the print job is stored on the machine until it is unlocked with a PIN. This feature is called job storage. Before we get started, let’s be clear that this is just a simple mechanism for saving and releasing print jobs. It’s nowhere near as reliable as a dedicated product like HP Access Control, HP Secure Print, or PaperCut. with pin code. To enable job storage on an HP LaserJet printer or MFP, follow these steps: Open the Windows Control Panel and double-click Devices and Printers. Right-click the HP LaserJet printer or MFP you want to set up for job storage and select Print Preferences. In the Print Options dialog box, click the Job Storage tab. Set the job storage mode to Private Job. Set Make Job Private/Secure to Print PIN and enter the 4-digit PIN you will use to unlock the print job. Set username to your name. The default username is your Windows login name. Click Apply and then OK. Now, whenever you print something on a LaserJet printer or MFP, it will be stored until you go to the printer and unlock the print job with the PIN you set in step 5 above. When something is printed on a LaserJet printer or MFP configured for job storage, the user will receive the following pop-up window on their PC telling them that the print job is being stored and the name of the print job. There is a checkbox to turn this off if users don’t want to see it every time they type something. To release a print job, go to the machine, select Print from the control panel menu, and then select Print from Job Storage. Click on your name, or whatever name you used in step 6 above, and then select the print job you want to print. You will be asked to enter a PIN. You can also delete a print job, unlock all or just unlock one print job – it’s very easy. To manage print jobs stored on your HP LaserJet and MFP, you can use the device’s Embedded Web Server to set options such as the number of jobs that can be stored at one time or how long a stored print job is kept before it is automatically deleted. When you open the printer web page and navigate to the Stored Data Security and Protection section, you will see a Manage Stored Jobs section at the bottom of the web page. The Job Storage Management section lists some of the settings you might want to change: Whether all stored print jobs require a PIN. Whether printer jobs are retained when the machine is restarted. How many temporary print jobs can be stored. How many days to keep a print job before it is automatically deleted.
