How To Clean Printheads On Epson Artisan 1430 – Most Epson printers are solid state printers. A permanent printhead is more efficient and durable than a single-use printhead. However, the fixed print head becomes a big problem when stuck. As for Epson printers, one day we may see printers in parts. Most people complain about bad printing on third-party cartridges, poor quality of ink, change in the quality of ink, etc. In order to try to solve the problem, one can return to Epson cartridges. If a new Epson cartridge solves the problem, one would expect Epson to be loyal. If a new Epson cartridge doesn’t fix the problem, one might assume that the printer’s refilling process is broken.

Don’t run out of ink. If we run out of ink, the cartridge and print head will be filled with air. When we refill the cartridge, we will use a syringe to suck air from the opening of the cartridge until we see the ink coming out. Also, we can add one drop (1 ml) of water for every 100 ml of ink to prevent drying.

Epson cleaning can be unpredictable. In fact, Epson has built a very powerful cleaning function in the printer, and people don’t know how to use it. Most people just run one or two cleanses and leave. People worry that cleaning will damage the print head. Epson has a counter, if we run more than 5 cleaning in a row, the printer will show “Print head damaged” and prevent further cleaning. Therefore, we do not do more than three cleanings in a row. If we try hard, we can remove air bubbles and debris inside the print head by washing it with water. We take a syringe, fill it with water, and pour the water into the ink cone. Some inks are put into a syringe, so we don’t need special equipment. The tubing may need to be larger enough to fit the syringe.

This method will drain the ink waste. Finally, we will put a dry paper towel in the printer and move the print head on it, as in 4).

Original ink is a non-compressing type. A “gold standard” in the ink industry states that dry ink can be mixed with the same ink. So the best solution is to use the type of ink in the cartridge.
